Lexington Catholic crushes LCA 80-58 behind 3-point barrage
The Knights hit 13 threes in semifinal blowout
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Jack Gohmann scored 14 of his 21 points in the third quarter as the Lexington Catholic Knights connected on 13 of 19 from three-point range whipping LCA 80-58 in the semifinals of the boys’ 43rd district tournament at Lafayette. Gohmann punctuated his great night with a 35-foot bank shot to end the third quarter.
Mister Basketball candidate Ben Johnson led the way for the Knights with 26 points as LexCath never trailed to its Holy War rival.
LCA, which finished the season with a 12-12 record, got 19 points from Tanner Walton and 15 points from Tyler Hall.
Lexington Catholic (20-1) moves on to the championship and will play Dunbar Friday night.
