LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - These showers & storms continue to pack a punch across Kentucky.

During the past few days, we have had to deal with repeat rounds of showers & storms. They pass over the same areas and load the ground with water. That’s where we are right now. The ground is full of water and just a little more rain can tip us over to flood potential. It remains our biggest concern from this development.

As usual, the in-between time will include very humid air. This muggy stretch will continue until we get a good cleansing front in here. I do expect that to happen by this weekend. During the transition, we could see some strong to severe thunderstorms.

On the other side, it looks much better for a few days.

We will get some relief with humidity dropping significantly on the other side. It will feel so much better.

Take care of each other.
