Airfest airshow held in Scott County
This weekend was the fourth time the Georgetown/Scott County Regional Airport played host to Airfest.
The pilots at the event said they were excited to bring something they love to thousands of other people.
"To be able to share something like this, unique experience, that’s what makes it worthwhile," said pilot Bob Heath.
They weren't the only ones taking off this weekend.
Rides in helicopters and planes were available Saturday and Sunday.
"Probably one of the craziest things I’ve ever done, by far," Britton Phillips said after flying in a Huey helicopter.
Organizers said they were excited to show off the airport as well as the machinery.
"That’s kind of the reason we had our first air show in 2011, was to show people the airport," said airport board president Martin Thomas.
